The warm and inviting atmosphere accompanied by a menu featuring a selection of mouthwatering dishes makes it a top choice for special occasions. The dining room here has incredibly high ceilings with a large first come first serve bar.

Maydan has gotten lots of compliments from food reviewers for its Middle Eastern dishes cooked over an open fire in the center of the restaurant. But what really stood out and got this restaurant a special James Beard nomination wasn’t their food – it was their extensive wine list of unique wines. Instead of the usual wines from places like France or California, they have special ones like reds from Lebanon, and a yellow wine from Slovenia.

Getting a reservation here can be challenging, so be sure to make a reservation well in advance. This is the perfect place to impress your foodie friends and give them a unique experience in Washington DC.

Maydan is technically not on 14th street. It is just off the main part of 14th street on Florida Avenue, tucked away.
